1984:     Tony began his Aikido training under the instruction of Terry Bayliss Sensei, in  association with the Aikido Fellowship and Ralph Reynolds Shihan.
 

1989:     Tony was authorised to teach Aikido having completed his Teaching Certificate with The              Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain under authorisation from Ralph Reynolds Shihan.

1990:     Black Belt. Tony was graded to Shodan by Ralph Reynolds Shihan.

1992:     Tony receives his Aikikai Shodan Certificate at the New York Aikikai Dojo, U.S.A.

2005:     5th Dan Aikido. Tony receives promotion by Terry Bayliss Shihan, Seijitsu Aikido Ryu.

2011:     Graded to Rokudan by Gunter Bauer Soke in U.K

2018:   Kyoshi Title. Tony attends a training camp in Stockholm, Sweden where he is awarded a Samurai Title and the Shogo title of “Kyoshi” the basic  translation being his Graduation to “Professor”.   

2023:    6th Dan Aikido. Tony is presented his Rokudan Certificate inside  the Butokuden, Kyoto, Japan under the authority of the Governing Body in Japan.

2024:    Tony receives official recognition and certification for the title of ‘Shihan’ from Kyoto, Japan.

Today Tony acts as an independent Dojo Cho at ‘Black Star Aikido’, where he continues to grow the membership and promote the teachings and values of traditional Aikido.

Tony Brown Shihan is a Certified and Insured Instructor with the BMABA, British Martial Arts & Boxing Association, U.K.

He is confirmed in rank of 6th Dan Aikido & 7th Dan Goshin Jitsu. 

Tony holds a current First Aid at Work qualification (FAW).
